While the regulations in North Cyprus place some restrictions on specific IVF treatments for LGBTQ+ individuals, we are dedicated to helping you explore your options within these guidelines.

Preparing for a Brighter Future

Currently laws in North Cyprus allow for heterosexual couples and women without a male partner to have egg donation, sperm donation and embryo donation (double donation) treatments. Lesbian women using donor eggs or lesbian women using their own eggs and carry the embryo are also permitted. This on the other hand means that ROPA can not be performed according to our country’s current regulations.

Since surrogacy requires a permit issued by the Ministry of Health and since this permit is issued for a severe medical reason of the female partner, our authorities do not issue this permit for single and gay man. As a point of caution, in northern Cyprus the person giving birth is considered the legal mother and hence will be considered the mother on the birth certificate after birth. Therefore, it is recommended that persons undergoing surrogacy treatment consider this carefully if the surrogate is to give birth in northern Cyprus.
