With new technologies you can choose the gender of your unborn baby. In recent times, couples utilising the current IVF treatments and gender selection technology available in Northern Cyprus has been steadily rising.
Individuals who opt for IVF treatment must take into account that the age and health directly impact the success of the treatment. As the age of the patient increases, the quality and quantity of the eggs/ovum deteriorate.
Gender Selection with IVF Treatment
IVF treatment and gender selection procedures depend heavily on the quality and quantity of the eggs/ovum produced by the nominated mother as well as the quality of the sperm. The number of embryos plays a major role in the gender selection process, as the higher amount of quality embryos available directly contribute to the higher chance of selecting a healthy embryo of the desired gender. Individuals who opt for IVF treatment must take into account that the age and health directly impact the success of the treatment. As the age of the patient increases, the quality and quantity of the eggs/ovum deteriorates.
Which medication can be used for gender selection in IVF TREATMENT?
Gonal F is medication is used to treat certain fertility problems in women. It provides the hormone (FSH) that helps cause the ovaries to produce eggs.
Cetrotide is given to women having ovarian stimulation (fertility treatment where the ovaries are stimulated to produce more eggs). It is used to prevent premature ovulation (early release of eggs from the ovary).
Ovitrelle is administered to trigger final follicular maturation and luteinisation after stimulation of follicular growth.
Gender Selection with Egg donation
Women who can’t get pregnant with their own eggs or whose body can’t produce eggs due to menopause still have chance to predict their baby’s gender with egg donation. This method of treatment is processed with the use of healthy, high fertilized eggs from other young female. The collected eggs from the young female will be fertilized with the sperm taken from the father candidate. After the transplant process of the sperm and egg has taken place the quality embryos will be transferred into the mother candidate’s womb.
Once the donors’ eggs have come to an appropriate size the eggs are collected. While the donors eggs are being collected the father candidate’s sperm are collected and the treatment begins. Also the mother candidate will begin to use progesterone gel. Once the father candidate has given his sperm sample, on the 5th day 2 or 3 quality fertilized embryos will be transferred into the mother candidates’ womb. After the embryos have been transferred into the mother candidate’s womb, the mother candidate will foresee medical treatments (oestrogen and progesterone). A pregnancy test will be needed 12 days after the transfer of the embryos.
In conclusion, couples can predict their baby’s gender with IVF treatment or egg donations. With the help of IVF technology it becomes possible to predict the baby gender with almost 100 % accuracy, which gives a lot of hope for couples who wish to determine the sex of baby and conceive a child with the desired gender.
