Dunya IVF specialists new protocol for assisted reproductive technology

Kyrenia, North Cyprus. A new protocol for assisted reproductive technology has been proven effective in preventing premature ovulation. Dr. Berk Angun, M.D. and Dr. Alper Eraslan, M.D., IVF Specialists at Dunya IVF, together with their colleagues Dr. Sule Yildiz, M.D., Dr. Engin Turkgeldi, M.D., Dr. Bulent Urman, M.D., and Dr. Baris Ata, M.D., M.Sc., in a study published in Fertility and Sterility® journal, found that flexible progestin primed ovarian stimulation (FPPOS) protocol with Medroxy Progesterone Acetate (MPA) “is effective choice for preventing premature ovulation in women undergoing ovarian stimulation without compromising oocyte quality.”

Our study involved 87 oocyte donors and 191 recipients of fresh oocytes at Dunya IVF. It is a welcome breakthrough among IVF specialists worldwide.

What is premature ovulation?

Oocyte is the ovum or egg cell produced in the ovary. Oocytes are collected in assisted reproductive technology, after the woman’s ovaries are stimulated. Premature ovulation defined as the rupture of the follicles(s) before the scheduled time, which is the day of the egg retrieval, may lead to cycle cancellation.

Preventing premature ovulation will give higher chances of success for egg retrieval.
